33 weeks - 34th week

Here I am in my 34th week - and these were the photos of myself that made me laugh! The other photo is our floor gym from Judy Dukes (friend of Wanda's) that will make our child brilliant!
This was our last week of child birthing classes and we are educated & informed, but not necessarily prepared! :) We took the tour of the birthing wing and have pre-registered for our labor & delivery so we get to just walk in when I'm in labor.
I also had my two-week appointment and got to meet another doctor in the practice. Very low keep appointment again - they are checking my iron at each appointment now and of course we got to hear the heartbeat as always. This time the doctor poked around on my stomach and is pretty sure the baby is already in the head-down position. They will be able to verify this at 36 weeks when they start doing cervical exams.
I have had much less swelling this week since I almost doubled my fluid intake. So everything is still going smooth at this point.
Our mothers arrive Friday for a shower this weekend - so look for a new post by Monday!

Mail in shower - post 2

Here is part two of gift photos from the mail-in shower.

Alexa surprised me with a box of her son's clothing who will be a little over a year older than our son. In addition to those wonderful things she also gave us an Eddie Bower diaper bag, Arbonne baby care set, pack of onsies and an adorable newborn outfit.

Melissa Chance (sister) sent the mirror and (Aunt) Frances Mole and Martha Edmondson sent money and I bought the two seat grabbers with the money from Aunt Frances to go under our car seats. Sherry Mole gave us the dishwasher baskets and 210 wipes! (Aunt) Shirley Mole gave us the all star outfit and blue blanket. Stephanie Carroll gave us the tubside kneeler and stool with three hooded towels. These are the gifts that did arrive by the March 29th date - so if you are not on here....just wait, I haven't gotten the gift yet - but I'll make sure to post it when I do.

Mail-in Shower - post 1

On March 29th Alexa Bigwarfe and Karen Sipos (sorority sisters) hosted a mail-in shower for us. We got so many useful gifts and also gift cards so we can pick up items we need closer to baby's arrival. On the day of the shower a large box arrived that had a diaper cake for me and the two outfits, two bibs, etc. from Karen - see photos. The two outfits and bear rattle are from Aunt Hope, the Bumbo tray, carrier toy, spoons and pacifiers are from Janet Reno and the three Halo sleepslacks are from Mary Andrysk.
From Tammy Mole, Jessica Runkle, Megan Ellinger, and Lee & Jill Wiles we received gift cards.
Going to post again so I can fit more photos.

32 weeks

If a picture's worth a thousand words...there is very little left to say about this one. I'm at 32 weeks/33rd week - I'm large and only getting bigger!
This is an off week for us as we don't have a doctor appointment and we don't have child birth classes. Looks like everyone has spring break but us! :)
I just found out today that our across the street neighbor is due in September with their 3rd child. We are very excited that our little boy will have a playmate near his age in addition to our home group leaders' son Sam who was born in February.
We are also starting to get baby gifts. These just make us more excited and anxious for little boy to arrive! His room is certainly starting to look like a real nursery with these additions.
On a different note, Jason has just finished tiling the second upstairs guest bathroom. It is completed just in time for our mothers' arrival on April 4th for our Johnson & Wales shower.
Thank you to all of you who are keeping up with our pregnancy via blog and to those of you who are showering us with love through gifts and hand-me-downs. We appreciate this more than you know. It keeps us feeling close to SC friends and family even though we are so far away.

31 weeks

This week has been another long week - I'm about ready for a vacation! As you can see I am getting quite big in my 32nd week. Breathing and maneuvering are getting quite difficult and I'm getting tired more easily. And let's not even talk about the too many to count trips to the bathroom!
Tuesday we had our home group that lasted until 10pm. The next morning I had to turn around and be at work at 6:30am, work was followed my by OB appointment and finally child birth class.

My check-up at my OB went fine. I was weighed, gave a urine sample and blood was drawn to check my iron levels. It was the first appointment that we did not see my regular OB now that she is out on maternity leave. Jason was excited as ever just to hear the heartbeat. I will go back in 2 weeks (April 2nd).

Thursday and Friday I am in training for work from 8:30am - 4:30pm. I have noticed that I am finding it harder and harder to pay attention and retain information - so I am taking lots of notes and trying to stay focused since it's very interactive.

Jason has started tiling the small guest bath and will finish up that project this weekend. We will be celebrating Easter by attending church and just spending the day together. We are looking forward to having our son with us next year - and starting our own family traditions out here in CO. Until then we will be missing our families, the picnics and the egg hunts!

Happy Easter to everyone and until next week...

Babies R Us Registry Information

We are now registered at Babies-R-Us. The website is Babiesrus.com and our registry is #70108438 - or you can pull it up by our names and Thornton, CO. For those of you who must ship things to us, we found a little short cut. If you pick what you want on our registry, then call the Westminster store at 303-650-2229, X3, and place your order (with our registry number) and tell them to call us for pick up - you don't have to pay shipping and handling. You will however have to pay our high (8%) Colorado sales tax.

We had some questions about this now that shower invites are out. So here you go and I hope this helps!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Well the DuBose family celebrated St. Patrick's Day this past Saturday in our traditional way - in kilts and plaids!
Chris & Susan joined us for the Denver SPD Parade. This is a very extensive parade lasting 4 hours! We always 'tailgate' for this event and have a wonderful time. We are also exhausted and (me) ready for a nap when we finally get home.
This past week we also attended our second Childbirth class. This one focused on natural birth again - with positions and other distractors such as smell, temperature changes, feel, etc. I am so observant these days that I did not realize that all the other new dads in our class are Michael or Mike! Jason is the odd man out. With my new found joy and giddiness I have again made a spectacle of myself with the giggles over one of the massaging tools! Oh well - at least I'm not crying all the time!
I also had my first day of ankle swelling - but it was after a 13 hour work day in semi-dress shoes so I'm not too worried that this is the start of something consistent.
Finally we were blessed with baby boy clothes from my mom and some of Braedan's pass alongs from Alexa. They are all washed, sorted into sizes and in his drawers just waiting for baby boy's arrival. Thank you both for thinking of us!
We got to the doctor Wednesday for our 32nd/8 month check up - so I'll report back then!
