Here we pump again....

So this week has been a pretty upside down week. The only constant has been my constant pumping at work!
We started the week with Nathan waking up congested every morning since Sunday. Monday he didn't eat well, he slept a lot, no pooping - but thankfully no fever either. I was told that Friday there were a lot of sniffles and Monday - even more. Thanks for sharing! At least we are building up his immune system a little at a time. I picked him up on Monday and all he wanted to do was nurse and be held - so I did.
Sunday night we also discovered that our air conditioning had gone out.....while we are having record highs! So Monday the HVAC guy told Jason some things to do - that did not work - so we sweated that night. Thankfully the repairman came Tuesday and repaired our until around 5pm - just in time for the house to start cooling for home group.
So everyday Nathan has gotten a little better with less congestion, better eating and more poop diapers. ALSO, BIG NEWS - for two nights now (Tuesday & Wednesday) he has slept through the night! This morning I even had to wake him up at 5:15am to eat! I consider sleeping through the night when he nurses around 9 or 10pm and goes to sleep - until around 5am when we have to start getting ready to have him at daycare a little before 7am and have me at work by 7:30am.
I also finally went to the doctor about my chest pains and it seems that I have pulled muscles deep in my chest, most likely from hauling 13+ pound baby, car seat, bottles & cooler, etc. So I'm suppose to take pain medication and not strain myself by lifting anything heavy.
Finally, I am moving buildings and offices today to start my new position with JWU. So lots going on and lots of changes. Looking forward to the weekend - Nathan turns 3 months on Saturday and we're having his picture taken!
Nathan and Daddy got Mommy roses since she's having such a hard time with daycare.....:( Arent' they thoughtful guys!

Starting daycare and returning to work

Photos: Nathanon his first day, his crib and his basket!

Today - Thursday, July 24th, was Nathan's first day at daycare and my first day back at work. I must say that this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. My heart broke when I left him at daycare. He's just so little - and precious - and no one can take care of him and love him like I can! I started tearing up in the center and cried all the way to work. Then everyone has asked how I am doing - which starts the emotions all over again.
This week I am still in the Executive Offices, but starting August 1st I will be in a new position, new building, new supervisor, etc. I will be working on creating community programs for adults and summer programs for kids as well as helping with other special projects on campus. So at least I have something new, challenging and exciting to do at work - but it doesn't quite make up for not being with Nathan all day.
So when I left Nathan early this morning he was sleeping. When I called a little after 8am he was eating and had already tinkled all over the daycare worker and his clothes when she changed him. So much for the cute first day at school outfit.
I am very thankful that they are understanding and said I could call anytime I needed to. :)

Susan's haircut!

After about 5 years of growing my hair out - or having it long. Saturday I took the plunge and chopped it all off! With and audience and lots of laughter we snipped about 11 inches off. I donated my ponytail to Locks of Love. My new do is so much easier to take care of - and harder for Nathan to grab on to! Loving the new shorter hair.

Nathan's first trip to South Carolina

Thursday, July 10th, the three of us flew out on an afternoon flight to South Carolina. Due to bad weather in GA we were a bit delayed in leaving, but thankfully made both of our flights. Nathan was a great little flyer. For the first flight that was 2 hours long he just played and entertained us. For the second flight that was only 30 minutes he took a little nap.
We arrived in Savannah around 1am to Grandmama and Poppa Holbert...and heat and humidity!
Nathan is very hot-natured and now screams and cries when he is hot. So this weekend he did a good bit of that when he got hot - which was a lot. When we would walk from the AC to the heat he looked like he had been splashed with water when the heat hit him!
So after getting to bed around 4:30am and back up again at 7:30am to eat and get ready for the day....we headed to meet all of Grandmama Wanda's co-workers. Nathan got held, loved and photographed a lot - which was just the start of a weekend of holding and loving by people he'd just met. From there we headed to lunch - Southern BBQ! We met Me-Ma & Pa-Pa Mole, Great Aunt Hope & Uncle Herb and second cousin Al there. More loving, holding and pictures!
Next we went by to see my good friend Michelle and her daughter Charley.
Finally we stopped by to see Nathan's only great grandparent, Wanda's mom Vernella - now known as "GG". Nathan could not have been better! He was very calm while she held him several times. He loved his GG and she loved him! After that we headed back to Wanda & Jim's to meet Wanda's cousin Ann - and finally out to dinner that night to call it a day!
Saturday was even busier! We started by heading to Allendale to the Mole reunion where Nathan met Aunts, Uncles, and cousins galore! Way too many to name them all! Right after that we headed to a "meet the baby reception/shower" that lasted until after 6pm with friends and family following us home to get a little more one-on-one time with Nathan.
Sudnday was our final full day in South Carolina and it was just with Me-Ma & Pa-Pa. First we went to church with them and out to eat. Then we headed home for a relaxing day of one-on-one play time.
Monday we got up really early and flew home one two 2-hour flight and Nathan slept through both! I think we had worn him out! It was a great trip - and wonderful seeing all our family & friends.
