First a recap of the weekend. Thursday we got a call to pick up Nathan - so Jason did. Friday I had to stay home with him and he had a doctor appointment (check-up) that day. His ear infection cleared up beautifully, but he had the summer stomach virus! He had a rash and diarrhea. No fever or vomiting - but to expect it along with sore throat. It was also contagious for Jason and I. Thankfully we missed that bullet this time and by Sunday Nathan was done with the diarrhea and was able to return to school on Monday. He actually had a really good day yesterday and then he and I hung out and ran errands while Jason was at Masons.
Last night Jason completed his third degree of Master Mason and received his apron and bible.
Friday the COANG - or Colorado Army National Guard - (800) moved in to JWU. The DNC - or Democratic National Convention - also invaded Denver. So this week JWU is allowing no faculty, students, or neighbors on campus. There is a skeleton crew of staff and we must have picture IDs and be on the list! It's quite interesting to see blockades, Humvees, M16s and lots of people in fatigues all over our campus. The locals are avoiding downtown, where the DNC is taking place, like the plague! We are still feeling the effects on our interstates though - traffic is a bear!
So with all this - it's about as much excitement as we can stand this week. Thank goodness that next Monday is a holiday and we have a four day work week following that!
I would also like to say congratulations to my good friends, Karen & Todd, who found out last week that they are expecting their #2 in March of next year! You can find a link to her blog here on my blog. Hopefully she'll start blogging about pregnancy the second time around and with a 2-year old this time! No pressure!:)
