July 2009-Photos from Shannon's visit, Children's Museum, RM Arsenal hayride, coloring, etc.

I'm a little behind because we got a new camera and I'm not as efficient at downloading photos as I was - but we'll get all caught up!

July 16-18 we had a surprise visit from my old roommate, Shannon Fennell. She was on her way back to SC from CA. We managed to pack in a few outings and lots of time just catching up, or "visiting" if you are from the South!



Then on July 25th we had lunch with Chris & Susan Dennison.




The Mother's Milk bank where Nathan and I donated over 200 ounces of breast milk had thier 25th Anniversary Bash at the Childern's Museum - on July 31st.








Finally some photos from our hayride through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal with Lindsay, Eban and Jackson Tracy - where I lost my brand new camera in the hay!

15 months old!

Sunday Nathan turned 15 months old. I don't know how the time has gone by so quickly - and I'm also amazed in how much he has changed, grown and learned in the last 15 months!






Saturday, Nathan and I joined Lindsay and her sons Eban (3) and Jackson (almost 2) for a hayride through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. We saw deer, raccoons, bison, owl, hawk, CO's state bird the Larkspur Bunting and many other animals in their natural habitats. The three boys had a great time in the hay and were very good throughout this 2 hour ride! Then we returned back to our house for a little snack and play time. I temporarily lost my camera in the hay....so when Lindsay shares her photos with me I'll update this blog with some photos! :)

Friday night, Nathan and I attended the Mother's Milk Bank 25th Birthday bash at the Denver Children's Museum. It was for donors & kiddos and recipients & moms. This was the milk bank that I donated to when Nathan was younger. There are only 10 milk banks in the US. This is the 3rd producing (this year) in the US and they just celebrated 25 years. Children who's mommies cannot produce milk for them, are pre-term, multiples or cannot tolerate formula are prescribed donor milk. That's where those with excess come in. I encourage any nursing mother that can - to donate to this worthy cause. It doesn't cost you anything but time.

I guess that's it for this week. Scottish festival and highland games next weekend! :)

8/3/09 STATS UPDATE: 21 pounds and 14 ounces (15-20%) and 31.25 inches tall (50%). He looked great and is hitting all the developmental markers! Four more shots yesterday - sooner or later we will be done with all this immunizations!

Nathan's 1st trip to the ocean - Myrtle Beach, SC

Saturday after the wedding we drove to Myrtle Beach, SC where we stayed until Wednesday, July 15th. Mom, Dad, Dylan, Jason, Nathan and I stayed in the condo. Jim and Wanda across the street, as well as the DeWitt family. My mom's sister's family was there too but we didn't see much of them.

Nathan loved the ocean water and sand - he liked to eat the sand! He also spent time in the indoor and outdoor pools. With both sets of grandparents he was thoroughly spoiled - but so very good.

Melissa & Ted Darby's Wedding- July 11, 2009

The wedding was touching, Melissa was beautiful, the food was delicious - everything was perfect!

They had so many special personalized touches - and God was at the center of everything.

Following the wedding they took a 7-day Exotic Western Caribbean Cruise.

Now all three of us have last names that start with "D". Terry DeWitt, Susan DuBose and Melissa Darby!

Not many pictures because my new camera died, my old camera died and Wanda's camera died. What are the odds?!?

Melissa & Ted's Pre-Wedding Activities- July 10, 2009

Friday morning Wanda, Nathan and I headed to Aiken, SC for the wedding prep activities. We started with a manicure/pedicure lingerie party brunch. I little pampering, a little food and lots of fun! That evening was the rehearsal party dinner with wonderful SC Duke's BBQ!!!







All of our immediate family was there and most of Ted's. It was a good time had by all. Afterwards we were given a tour of the home Ted is building. It is amazing with lots of neat features he's thought up! They will move into this home around December but until then will live in Melissa's house.
