Nathan's 10 month photos

As many of you know we get Nathan's photos taken every month on his monthly birthday - this is 10 months. We know his hair is getting long - but won't cut it until he's a year we don't think! :)

Nathan is 10 months old this week!

Our little baby is getting so big - and learning so much! Monday he turned 10 months old!
This week his daycare celebrated Dr. Suess week - and Wednesday was crazy hair and clothes day! So you will see his Elvis hair, in Blue Hawaii of course! :)

Here you will see Nathan walking across our den with his push toy and shaking his highchair!

Nathan growing big and strong!

Last Friday we took Nathan for his 9 month check-up....even though he's going to be 10 months this Monday. He weighed 19.5 pounds (30th percentile)! He is now allowed and encouraged to eat most table foods. So we have started introducing new things to him. He still loves his yogurt and eats about 8 ounces a day a daycare. New things that he has tried: pancakes, oatmeal, goldfish crackers, animal crackers, watermelon, refried beans, peas, carrots, mashed potatoes, pear. Most of this list he's not digging - a few he loves. Jason also upgraded his car seat to one that will go up to 100 pounds - so we now both have the big boy seats in our cars. We have also (finally) moved him to his room and his crib. I held on to keeping him in our room as long as possible - but I think it is now time. Except for lack of sleep on our part - we are all adjusting to it pretty well. He is learning to put himself to sleep and back to sleep when he wakes up at night. He's not eating during the night - just waking up looking for some company. I'm working on getting him to sleep later.....like between 5-6am. He like 4:15-4:45am! :) There is a chance that teeth may be in the near future....but I'm not counting those teeth until they hatch out of his little gums. Four months ago a nurse and mother of four both told us he was cutting eye teeth.....still no sign of those eye teeth. This past week he had a great time playing with Sam who is 12 months old. Nathan is about as big as he is but he's crawling and Sam has been walking for months! So Nathan follows him, tackles him, rams him with his head, pulls his hair and makes him cry and then they take turns taking toys away from one another. It is really cute to watch - and as they get older that 2 month gap is going to grow very small! I'm in the last stages of making Nathan's first kilt. A friend's mother-in-law helped me lay it all out and showed me the stitches I needed for the different parts. All the hand-sewn parts are done and I'm taking it to a friend's house this weekend to put a few machine hems in it - and then it will be complete. I'm still working on the sash - that's taking longer even though it's just one piece that I'm doing a rolled hem in. Once he outgrows this one we have one ordered for him that should fit until the age of 2. So he's covered - and it going to be the cutest thing ever. We'll make sure to post photos when he wears them. We're anticipating a visit from both sets of grandparents in May. Boy are they going to be surprised at how much he has grown and what all he can do now! The last time they saw him was Christmas and he wasn't even crawling then! That's all for now. Will do better next week about posting in a timely manner! :)

In the Pantry and Walking on all fours videos

So Nathan is moving out and into everything.

If we leave the pantry door open - it's one of his most favorite places to explore. He also loves getting into our fridge when we open it up! You will also see our little monkey walking on hands and feet! Look out Grandma and Me-Ma - I'm going to run you ragged next time you see me!

Nathan's 9 month photos

Valentine's Weekend

After Nathan being sick - and then me being sick - we took the Valentine's weekend slow. We rested and tested our tummies with bland foods. :)

Sunday we attended the baby dedication followed by the 1st birthday celebration of Samuel (Sammy) Murphy Wellman - the youngest child of our homegroup leaders. Nathan wore his Valentine's bib from Anutie M and enjoyed some Goldfish (which he's added to his diet just this weekend). I am sporting my new Gene Simmons/Elvis/Winged Creature shirt from Mom. Boy did I have fun with those sleeves!

Nine and a half months after baby I am under 125 pounds and fitting into size 4 Levis. Just another plug for breastfeeding because the good Lord knows I'm not exercising beyond work, errands, volunteering and being a mom! Who has the time or energy?!?

Lots to catch up with!

So the past two weeks have been a whirlwind. As of last night Nathan completed his second round of 10 days of antibiotics. They guessed that he had a sinus infection, but after the first round of medication he was no better. So they started him on a second round of stronger antibiotics that messed up his stomach for a week and blistered his little bottom. So we have been changing outfits like diapers and had to mix up a concoction of Maalox and Vaseline for his bottom. He was also exposed to RSV in the nursery and they are unsure if this is what he had the whole time..... THANKFULLY he is done with the medication and is better! His bottom and stomach are slowly getting better also. That was all last week. This weekend after a reception I had at our home Friday night for my church SALT volunteers - we took it easy! :) Monday I had the day off and Nathan and I picked up Stacy and Ethan and went to lunch and then to Breast Feeding Support Group where the author of "Milk Memo" spoke. We then had our last swim lesson for this term. He accidentally slipped and went under and DID NOT like it very much! We are going to take a break with the lessons until this summer. But he got a certificate of completion and everything! :)
